Assemblies Parents are encouraged to register their youth with our office for communication purposes. Registration All youth who have regularly attend classes at Belmont Church should be registered. Youth are registered when parents submit a registration form to the Family Life Administrator. At the time of registration, parents are placed on the mailing list. Families do not receive any Youth communication unless a Registration Form has been filed. This form is available HERE. Registration forms can also be obtained in any division area during assemblies or by contacting the Family Life Administrator Kim Bischoff at

or 256-2123 ext. 250. You do not have to be a member to register your children for class. Special Needs Please let us know how we can help with your child’s special needs. For example, if your youth has a learning disability, allergies, behavior disorders, or other challenges we would appreciate your insight. Please help us devise strategies for effectively ministering to your child. Anything you share with us will be protected in confidence.
Evacuation While we hope never to use an ‘evacuation plan,’ we have one in place. Emergency evacuation procedures are rehearsed periodically as training for both volunteers and youth. If a fire alarm sounds, the youth are automatically evacuated. In a false alarm, the youth will be taken back to class for the remainder of the session. Below is a brief summary of the plan and designated safe locations to pick up youth. Your youth’s teacher or pastor should be able to answer any questions you may have about your youth’s exit route. If emergency evacuation becomes necessary, parents should not attempt to go to their youth’s class as this will clog the exit route. Instead, they should exit the building as directed and then proceed to the designated safe pick-up areas to retrieve their youth. The designated safe areas for youth are as follows:
- Corner Room– the gravel parking lot (Grand Avenue)
- Smacky’s – the gravel parking lot (Grand Avenue)
- Sozo’s– the gravel parking lot
Guards Crossing guards are provided for safety of Belmont Church, to safely cross to Sozo and the Corner Room. When dismissed from the Worship Center, youth should quietly exit the main building and go immediately to class. I.D. Badges All Youth Ministry personnel (both volunteer and paid workers) must wear a photo I.D. badge that signifies they have been trained and have cleared a background check. Adult visitors to any classes will be provided a “guest” badge. Screening The Youth staff makes every effort to see that your youth is safe and secure by thoroughly screening every person that volunteers with our team. Each volunteer completes an extensive application. Upon receipt of the application, the youth staff submits applicant’s name to the pastoral staff for review, checks the references given by the applicant, and conducts a criminal background check. During their application process, each volunteer learns our abuse prevention policies and views the video, “Reducing the Risk.” Other safeguards include a six-month member rule which requires that anyone volunteering unsupervised with children must have been a Belmont member or regular attendee for at least six months. We also require two teachers for every class regardless of the number of children present and there is a glass window in every door so that the class may be observed at all times.
